Three of Four GM Brands Can't be rescued

Saab is a dead brand walking. Saturn was not worth buying. Opel didn't garner enough money to sell. Only Hummer appears to be worthwhile to prospective buyers in the world auto industry as GM has attempted to shed nonprofitable brands this year.

It is unfortunate that the Saab brand didn't retain enough value for another manufacturer to purchase. It is not a surprise, however. The brand, like many others at GM, has failed to turn a profit in a decade. Hopefully GM can prevent further failures as they move to improve the overall image of the company.
