Car Companies Live Another Day

GM and Chrysler get loan money. Ford will get concessions from UAW without getting money from Uncle Sam. The auto workers get the holidays off. The American public can get a good deal on a new car, if you have any money left after the economic collapse.

Today's link gives another opinion that, like myself, feels this is only a stopgap for the auto industry. They will be back for more money (in about six months) and still do not have a sustainable business model.

The precedent has been set. We "cannot let them fail" so we will now subsidize the auto industry indefinitely.

Maybe they'll send us all a thank you card.
